Silhouette                                           Written by: Bob Hamilton

Falling apart at the seams
Living out dangerous dreams
You could be chasing a whim or a bucket of gold
Try doing the simple things well
Ring like old Chuck Berry’s bell
Johnny’s behaving, he’s doing just what he’s been told

Who are you? I’d like to know.
Your outline is all that shows

It’s simply a matter of fact
The actor is caught in the act
Stand in the spotlight and you could be turned into stone
I’ll whisper a word to the wise
I know that a cat has nine lives
But you’re up to ten so perhaps you could leave it alone

I trace out your silhouette
Before I start to forget

I wasn’t looking for you
You weren’t waiting for me
We just collided and now it’s decided that we’re sharing a mystery
Time is on our side and that’s all that matters to me.

Like the dark side of the moon
You keep your face hidden from view
You stare into space and ignore the world spinning below
I know you reach out to the light
I know you stand up for what’s right
But maybe it’s time you should think about letting it go

Give in and give up the fight
Surrender, for just one night

I wasn’t looking for you
You weren’t waiting for me
We just collided and now it’s decided that we’re sharing a mystery
Time is on our side and that’s all that matters to me.
