Mondo Hotel                                         Written by: Bob Hamilton

I’m sat in a beach bar in Sicily
listening to Beatles and Bach
I’m on the road and it feels like the load
is lifting from my back

The air is so warm that it’s hugging me
I’m sifting the sand through my toes
My shades keep slipping down
the sun cream on my nose

Now it feels like time
is finally on my side
And tonight we will be singing
while the cicadas all join in
‘cause The Castaways are playing
the Mondo Hotel

I’m leaving behind all the misery
This country is under a spell
The sky and the ground have been switched around
and the future’s shot to hell

I know it’s no better in Italy
They’ve nightmares all of their own
But I’m blocking that out
No TV, no laptop, no phone
‘Cause it’s almost time
for this place to come alive
We’ll be jumping in the fountains
We’ll be dancing in the dark
when The Castaways are playing
the Mondo Hotel

When it’s all over we’ll go for walk in the moonlight
Down to the water’s edge, wait for the dawn
Watch the sun rise out of the sea straight into the sky

It’s the other side of midnight
And the band’s still rocking out
And the people are all singing
And the moon is coming out
They’re all jumping in the fountains
They’re all dancing till they drop
When the Castaways are playing
we don’t ever want to stop
