Covid Blues Written by: Bob Hamilton
I remember long ago like it was yesterday
The memories replay like old LPs
Lately I’ve been looking back
‘Cause there’s nothing on my screen
The mighty mite has brought me to my knees
I’ve been serving time this week since
I tested positive
So, I’ve had to live inside this room
It’s been 6 days gone and now
I’ve nothing left to do
‘Cept to strum guitar and sing these Covid blues
And it feels like something is brewing up
A storm is coming. A storm is coming to claim us.
Guess we’ll have to lay low. A storm is coming to blame us.
Such a long, such a long way to go.
No-one knows what’s coming next
‘cause time’s a one way street
Nothing’s changed, that’s how it has to be
Throw away that crystal ball
We have to wait and see
The storm will run its course eventually
4 more days till I’ve done my time, it’s frustrating
I wanna be let loose, I’m just no use at waiting – all this time
And it feels like something is brewing up
A storm is coming. A storm is coming to claim us.
Guess we’ll have to lay low. A storm is coming to tame us.
Such a long, such a long way to go.
