Ballerina Written by: Bob Hamilton
There’s poetry in everything around us
For anyone who has the eyes to see
There’s music in the wind
Harmonies to be found
Hanging from the branches of the trees
But who’s got time to stop and smell the coffee?
We’re always rushing round like worker bees
With our faces in our phones
Slaves to emails and our
profiles and our likes and our tweets
Like a feather on the wind – raise me up and make me spin
Like a ballerina, up on her toes
Like a bird she soars and swoops and flows
I’d swap this body for one with wings
Forget everything
At times I have to scratch my head and wonder
Crazy things I thought I’d never see
Madmen rule the world
Holy Moses
I don’t know what to make of this scene
This is where it all begins – feather-light, lit from within
Like a ballerina, up on her toes
Watch her as she soars and swoops and flows
I’d swap this body for one with wings
Forget everything
