A Light Went Out                                                Written by: Bob Hamilton

Are you listening on a distant star?
Are you tuned in? You know where we are.
I’m sending out a message loud and clear –
Wish you were still here.

Are you floating in the endless night?
Are you traveling at the speed of light?
I stare into the cold and empty sky
Looking for a sign.

You’re in my head, you’re in my soul.
You’re in my blood, you’re in my bones.
A light went out.
It sparked a flame that lit the world up.
Now you are a shooting star –
a supernova.

Life still goes on, as it always does
But I’m yearning for the way it was
Your music down the ages will go on
But part of me is gone

Like John and Jimi you tilted at the moon,
And Jim and Jerry – all checked out too soon
Give them my regards when you get home
Chameleon

You’re in my head, you’re in my soul.
You’re in my blood, you’re in my bones.
A light went out.
It sparked a flame that lit the world up.
Now you are a shooting star –
a supernova.
